The rehabilitation works of this stretch of road was awarded to Chariot Company Ltd to urgently redress the degrading road as a result of the plight of the people in that locality .It links two sub divisions in the southwest region. Despite the heavy rainfall recorded early this month, works to rehabilitate the road from Buea to Mermoz, Sasse, Wotutu, Mile 4 Limbe have actually started, notwithstanding the insecurity situation in the restive Fako division of the Southwest region.
The project, which aims at creating a new view to ensure Cameroonians have decent and affordable means of transport has been making significant progress. From the execution rate , work is advancing rapidly on the site ,from kilometre point 00+00 to kilometre point 1+00, after completing the preliminary services. The tasks carried out by Chariot Company Ltd teams involves, among other things, scraping, cleaning, and excavation to liberate the gutters.
Meantime other works such as the compaction of the soil, construction of hydraulic structures etc are ongoing. The company's teams are also proceeding with the rehabilitation works are also ensuring that the quality of the materials used are good and the compaction of its various layers are perfect.on the field heavy equipments have already been put inplace. Caterpillars are compacting the soil from Mermoz to Sasse .The culvert has been done. Drainage constructed
As of the drainage works, significant progress has been made with nearly 3000m of 60x60 gutters already installed, and more concrete ditches are almost completed and masonry facing being installed, the prefabrication of T2 and Cs2 curves have been completed. Same with the channel gutter, components and slabs for the remaining areas.
